Dexter Whittemore , MD, DLFAPA

Education: Dr. Whittemore received his Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Minnesota and his General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago .
Credentialing: Board Certified Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Area of Practice: Dr. Whittemore is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in private consulting practice.  He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Past President of the Minnesota Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Past Chair of its Ethics Committee.  He has served as Chair of the Child Psychiatry Committee of the Minnesota Psychiatric Society and on advisory boards and boards of directors of several organizations including Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Home Society of St. Paul and The Minnesota Society for Adolescent Psychiatry.  He has served as Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Allina Health Services.  He has practiced in the Twin Cities since 1974.  His special interest is in ADHD and its comorbidities.
Dorit Miles, MA, LP
Office Location: Golden Valley
Education: Dorit earned her master’s degree in Educational Psychology in 1972 from the University of Minnesota.
Credentials: Licensed Psychologist – Minnesota Board of Psychology.
Areas of Practice: Psychotherapy with adults, working with a wide range of mental health issues. Special interests include life transitions, mid-life issues, post partum depression, parental issues and overall wellness.

Drevis Hager, EdD, LP
Office Location: Eagan, Golden Valley
 Education:  Dr. Hager earned a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology (1986) from Western Michigan University .
Credentials:  Licensed Psychologist
Areas of practice:  Psychotherapy and psychological assessments with adults and older adolescents.   He works with a broad range of problems and issues, and has a special interest in stress management training, meditation, and relaxation techniques.

Ginny Jacobs, MA, MS, LMFT, LP
Office Location:  Golden Valley
Education:  Ginny earned her Guidance and Counseling master’s degree in l983 and her clinical master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in l985, both from University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Areas of Practice:  Psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families.  Special interests in wellness, health and healing, chronic illness, loss, crisis as opportunity, positive psychology, integrative medicine.
Heidi Iwanski, MD            
Office Locations: Eagan, Golden Valley             
Education: Dr. Iwanski completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  She completed her internship in at the University of Minnesota, and completed her psychiatric training at Hennepin County/Regions Psychiatry Residency. 
Credentialing: Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry
Area of Practice: Dr. Iwanski works with adults and older adolescents doing psychiatric diagnostic assessments, medication management, and psychotherapy. 
Heidi Schmidt, MA, LMFT
Office Location:  Golden Valley
Education:  Heidi graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of St. Thomas in 2002.
Credentialing:  Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy
Area of Practice:  Assessment and therapy with children, adolescents, couples, individuals, and families.  Interests include depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, stress management, grief work, play therapy, parenting concerns, behavior disorders, ADHD, and PTSD.

Herbert Brenden, EdD, LP

Education: Dr. Brenden received his Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in 1970. Credentialing: Licensed Psychologist
Areas of Practice: Assessment and outpatient psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.  Special interest areas include psychological testing, attention deficit, wholistic health, and anxiety disorders.

John R. Shirriff, MD
Office Locations: Eagan , Shakopee, Golden Valley
Education:  Dr. Shirriff did his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin , then earned his MD degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1981.  He completed his residency there in 1985.
Credentialing:  Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry
Area of Practice:  Outpatient medication evaluations and medication monitoring with adults.
Kathryn Selmo, MD   
Office Location:  Golden Valley
Education: Dr. Selmo earned her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul in 1981.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1990.  She completed a neurology residency at the University of Minnesota in 1994.  She completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota in 2000.

Molly Blackmore, MS, LMFT
Office Location: Golden Valley
Education: Molly earned her master’s degree in Human Ecology, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kansas State University.
Credentials: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Areas of Practice: Individual, couples, and family therapy with adolescents and adults. She has experience working with adolescents who seek therapy voluntarily or are referred by probation. Special interests in working with teens, women, and particularly those who suffer from depression, anxiety, or the emotional consequences of sexual abuse. She works to help people recognize current and past obstacles and helps them decide on short-term and long-term solutions.

Steve Palmer, MA, LMFT
Office Location:  Golden Valley, Eagan
Education:  Steve earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Family Psychology at the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, MN (1998/1999).   He also holds an MA in Theology from the University of St Thomas (2001)
Credentialing:  Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy – MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy; Licensed Professional Counselor – MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy
Areas of Practice:  Individual, family, and conjoint psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. He works with a wide variety of presenting concerns, and has a special interest in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and the interface of spirituality and psychology.
